Funds donated to the 2018-2019 Blackford United Way, Inc. Campaign were allocated to the following agencies:
4-H is a Community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
Nurtures the creative spirit by making art experiences, education, and services accessible to the region’s residents, artists, and cultural organizations.
Blackford County Animal Shelter
Provides care, helps prevent animal cruelty, places animals in homes, and promotes spaying and neutering of animals.
Blackford County Senior Citizen Center
Gives seniors a place to interact with other seniors, helps increase and prolong lives physically, mentally, and socially.
Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts of Hartford City
Local troop and Pack 500 offers a 12 month program that focuses on advancement, outdoor experiences and character building. Boys 1st through 12th grades.
Brianna’s Hope (Hartford City Chapter)
Provides hope to individuals and communities battling addiction using support and encouragement through a faith based support and recovery group. Meets weekly in Hartford City.
A week long summer enrichment program for K-6 grade students that reinforces the traditional school year with science, technology, engineering, and math activities through inquiry-based, hands-on activities.
Cancer Services of East Central Indiana, Inc. (Little Red Door)
Mission: To help clients and families experiencing cancer to live longer, better, and more fulfilling lives, and through education and research, reduce the incidences of cancer and promote early cancer detection.
Carey Services, Inc.
Provides an array of services that address the vocational, educational, living, and social needs of persons with disabilities.
Community & Family Services
Sponsors and administers programs designed to help the economically disadvantaged within the community. Focus is on the Food Pantry, WIC, Christmas baskets, and other support services.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
In partnership with the Dollywood Foundation, Blackford County Community Foundation, and Blackford United Way, Inc., the program provides new books on a monthly basis to preschool age children who are residents of Blackford County. The program is free and open to all Blackford County children under the age of 5.
Grant-Blackford Mental Health, Inc.
Provides inpatient and outpatient treatment, resident and transition home daycare treatment, emergency crisis service, and a medication clinic.
Mental Health of Blackford County
Assists anyone needing help in any mental health illness, including mental illness, alcoholism, depression, child or spousal abuse, parenting skills, etc.
Montpelier Civic Center
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life in the Montpelier community. In accordance with our mission, we shall manage and supervise the Montpelier Civic Center for the benefit of the citizens of Montpelier and surrounding area.
Services for the Visually and Hearing Impaired
Provides counseling and communication aids, prevention, educational programs, and financial assistance to the visually and hearing impaired.
Provides financial assistance for local cancer patients and provides funds for research and equipment.
